Flex LNGC Launched In Korea

A 174,000-m3 LNG carrier ordered by Bermuda-based shipping group Flex LNG has been launched out to sea at a Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in South Korea.

The Flex Aurora newbuild is a two-stroke vessel with an X-DF engine, Flex LNG said on social media on September 6. It is one of the first uncommitted vessels with this type of motor technology entering the market.

The carrier be available for business at the end of the second quarter of 2020, after being fully refurbished and mobilised.
