Flex LNG, UECC Appoint Execs

Oslo-listed shipowner Flex LNG and Norway-based joint venture car carrier operator UECC announced key appointments October 2.

Flex LNG appointed Oystein Kalleklev as its chief financial officer.

Prior to joining, he held the same role at another Norwegian joint venture shipowner Knudsen NYK Offshore Tankers from 2013. He was a partner at investment bank Clarksons Platou from 2011 to 2013. Flex LNG is looking to also enter the floating regasification (FSRU) market.

Flex CEO Jonathan Cook said: "We expect that the breadth of his industry and corporate finance experience will add significant value to the company."

Meanwhile Norway-based UECC, which since 2016 has pioneered use of two LNG dual-fuelled ships, said October 2 it has hired Per Christian Mork as its chief operating officer, reporting directly to CEO Glenn Edvardsen.

Mork started his career with Statoil in 2002 as a Market Analyst, joining UECC's rival Hoegh Autoliners in year 2007 where he has been in various roles, most recently Head of Sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Oceania. UECC is co-owned by Japan’s NYK and Sweden’s Wallenius Lines.
