Finnish Gasum to Bunker Equinor's Tankers

Finnish utility Gasum will deliver LNG to Norwegian state Equinor’s new crude shuttle tankers, it said January 31. The supplies will start as the shuttle tankers start operating this year and the LNG will carried by Gasum's Coralius.

LNG bunkering deliveries will mainly take place off Skagen, the most northern part of Denmark, and at Mongstad, close to Bergen, Norway.

“We’re happy to support Equinor in its ambition towards cleaner shipping,” says Kimmo Rahkamo, Vice President at Gasum, which now bunkers vessels between Rotterdam to Gothenburg.

Gasum said it is attracting increasing interest from the maritime segments regarding fuel and services and last year it expanded its operations with the purchase of Nauticor, subject to competition authority approval. The Coralius had carried out 200 ship-to-ship bunkering operations as of late January.
