FERC Approves Corpus Christi Commissioning Cargoes

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) approved October 30 Cheniere Energy’s earlier request to export commissioning volumes of LNG produced from the first of three 4.5mn metric tons/year trains at its Corpus Christi liquefaction project in Texas.

The approval, however, does not extend to placing train 1 in commercial service, Ferc said.

“Such authorisation will only be granted following a determination that the facilities have been constructed in accordance with the commission approval and applicable standards, can be expected to operate safely as designed, and the rehabilitation and restoration of the areas affected by the project terminal are proceeding satisfactorily,” Ferc said.
