Exoma Spuds Nora-1 Unconventional Gas Well

Exoma Energy Limited has spudded Nora-1, the seventh well of the Galilee Joint Venture’s 2012 exploration program.  The well which is being drilled by EDA Rig-2, targets both coal seam gas and shale gas and oil.

The primary target is Betts Creek and Aramac coal measures.  The coal measures will be cored for desorption testing, the well will be logged and selected intervals may be tested to measure permeability. The well also targets Cretaceous Toolebuc Shale.  The shale formation will be control drilled and tested by chip sampling.

Exoma has a 50% beneficial interest in both ATP 991P and the Nora-1 well.  CNOOC Galilee Gas Company Pty Ltd is earning its participating interest by a farmin whereby CNOOC provides the first $50 million of joint venture expenditures on Exoma’s five Galilee Basin ATP’s.

The JV is drilling 22 well to appraise the coal seam gas, conventional oil and shale oil and gas resources in their acreage, which covers 27,000 square kilometres.
