EWC Recommissions Oz Eromanga Gas Field

Australia-listed Energy World Corporation (EWC) announced on August 26 a “major milestone” in the recommissioning of its Eromanga gas field in Queensland.

“As of the last week, our dedicated subcontractors and specialists have completed the initial well rehabilitation and confirmed gas flows and pressure at our existing wells,” it said.

Last week, EWC said it had received “full encouragement” from Queensland government to bring its gas fields, plant and pipelines in Queensland back into production. The company said over the last twelve months it had taken a number of steps to bring its Australian gas fields online.

EWC said its 100% subsidiary, Australian Gasfields, “will continue to work in line with government and permit requirements to commence commercial production from these gas fields as part of the Queensland Government Gas Acceleration Program. The company has received a number of enquiries from potential customers for this gas and will also be following up on these respective opportunities.”

Meanwhile, EWC said its purchase of the Vernon gas field in PL 117 from Santos and remaining interest in PL 184, which contains Thylungra gas field, had raised its total gas resources from 31bn ft3 to 44.1bn ft3.
