EWC on Track With Philippines LNG Facility

Energy World Corp. is close to completing the construction and starting operations of a $210-million liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub in Philippines’ Quezon province this year.

The company is working in cooperation with InterOil and Pacific LNG Operations for the LNG facility.

Commercial operation is likely to commence for end 2012 or early 2013. The first phase of the project will include a 130,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank, regasification facility, jetty and supporting infrastructure. The second phase will include an additional 130,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank.

The LNG hub terminal will be used to facilitate the distribution of natural gas to the proposed 300-megawatt (MW) combined cycle gas turbine power plant. It is adjacent to the 764-MW Pagbilao coal-fired thermal power plant.
