Essar Supplies 1st Compressed CBM to Kolkata
India’s Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (EOGEPL) dispatched the first-ever compressed coal bed methane (C-CBM) natural gas cascade truck for Bengal Gas Company’s maiden CNG station, it said on January 29.
The C-CBM cascade truck was flagged off by Bengal Gas Co CEO Satyabrata Bairagi and Santosh Chandra from EOGEPL’s gas compressor facility in West Bengal’s Durgapur on January 29 to the city gas distribution firm’s CNG station to be commissioned in Kolkata.
The Kolkata city gas distribution network is spearheaded by Bengal Gas Co, a joint venture between state-run Gail and Greater Calcutta Gas Supply Corporation.
The Raniganj East CBM block in West Bengal is a flagship asset of EOGEPL with a significant volume of CBM gas resources. The field has 348 wells, associated gas gathering and compressor facilities and about 300-km of infield and customer pipelines.
