Eni to Conduct Feasibility Study on Future Cooperation With Turkmenistan

Italy-based Eni held a meeting with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov to discuss current operations and future cooperation opportunities.

‘Concerning the development of future cooperation, the parties discussed options for gas valorization, agreeing that Eni will conduct a feasibility study in this regard,’ reads a note released by Eni on Tuesday.

Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi also confirmed the interest in expanding offshore operations in the Caspian Sea.

Turkmenistan is the fourth country by proven reserves of natural gas, after Russia, Iran and Qatar. According to 2013 estimates, it holds almost double the amount of US' proven gas resources.
