Engie, Terega Make Senior Hires

French utility giant Engie and southwest French gas grid Terega announced executive appointments October 15.

Terega said it had appointed Olivier Beatrix, an energy law specialist, as its company secretary (secretaire general) with effect from the same day, adding that he is also now a member of its executive committee. He graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (public service section) and holds a degree also in public finance law. His career includes having been legal adviser at power giant EDF, then legal director at the French energy regulator CRE from 2010 to 2013 and most recently legal director at Engie's gas distribution business GRDF from 2013 to 2018.

Engie meanwhile said Bill Collins has joined its finance department as special advisor to the group's CFO Judith Hartmann who is also executive vice-president in charge of North America and the UK. Collins will also be appointed Engie's deputy CFO in charge of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) department, when the incumbent Thierry Kalfon moves to another senior position within Engie. Collins has been group controller for Akzo Nobel since September 2017 in Amsterdam after two years as CFO of one of their business lines. He previously spent more than ten years working for Schneider Electric and eight at Eaton Corporation working in finance. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois.
