Brazil's Eneva has entered into an LNG supply agreement with local pulp maker Suzano, Reuters reported May 26.

Eneva says it has committed 530mn reais ($109.9mn) to implement a 300,000 m3/day LNG processing plant at the Parnaiba Basin, which has access to existing gas reserves from its fields in the area.

Both the industrial plant and the LNG facility are located in Maranhao state, northern Brazil. The contract will last 10 years and is currently scheduled to become active in the first half of 2024.

Eneva says the deal will further its natural gas monetisation strategy, which incorporates commercialising additional volumes from small scale LNG facilities.
