Empire Oil & Gas Renews Perth Basin Exploration Permit

Empire Oil & Gas announced that it has renewed exploration permit EP 389 in Perth Basin, Western Australia for a further period of 5 years.

The permit contains Gingin West-1 and Red Gully-1 gas condensate discoveries that are scheduled to start production in November.

The Western Australia Department of Mines and Petroleum has also offered the company two additional blocks covering 180 square kilometres within the permit as production licences

Red Gully-1 and Gingin West-1 had successfully flowed both gas and condensate at high rates during testing.

Gingin West-1 flowed 7.5 million cubic feet (MMcf) of gas and 375 barrels of condensate per day while Red Gully-1 flowed 12MMcf of gas and 832 barrels of condensate.

Gas produced from the 2 wells is already contracted to Alcoa while negotiations are underway with BP for the long term sale of condensates to the BP Kwinana Refinery.
