Egyptian Gas Exports Decline by 75% in June to $19 mn

Value of Egypt’s natural gas exports in June decline by 75 percent in June to $19 billion due to suspension of supplies to Jordan and closure of LNG export facilities, Daily News Egypt reported Wednesday citing a statement by Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC).

Supplies of gas to Jordan has been disrupted several times this year due to the tense situation in Sinai and multiple explosions on the export pipeline.

Exports which were valued at $76 million in June last year also declined due to reduced domestic gas output, the newspaper added.

Country’s gas production has declined to 4.6 bn cubic feet of gas per day compared with approximately 5.7 bn last year.

Domestic natural gas consumption increased during June by 11.45%.
