Egypt to Award LNG Import License in Two Weeks

Egypt is expected to award LNG import license for the first time in next two weeks, Bloomberg has reported.

Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co., or EGAS, will most likley award the license to more than one of the five companies that offered bids in the tender that closed on Feb 3, Sherif Soussa, company’s chairman, told the news agency in an interview.

The nation’s industrial users will be allowed to import a maximum of 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas daily starting in the second half of 2013, Oil Minister Osama Kamal said in Novembe, Bloomberg added.
