Egypt Ends LNG Imports: Minister

Egypt has stopped importing LNG, petroleum minister Tarek el-Molla announced September 29, according to the English edition of state newspaper al Ahram.

It quoted the minister as saying that the last shipment of LNG arrived last week and that Egypt had achieved self-sufficiency in gas production thanks to the rapid ramp up of the giant Zohr field.

The short al Ahram article can be read here and a longer article can be read on the Daily News Egypt website.
