Ecobunker to carry out LNG bunkering at Yokohama

NYK Line, NYK Cruises, Ecobunker Shipping and Yokohama City have signed an MoU to carry out LNG bunkering operations at Port of Yokohama, Ecobunker said on May 28 in a statement.

Japanese LNG bunkering vessel operator, Ecobunker Shipping, launched its first LNG bunkering vessel Ecobunker Tokyo Bay last year. The vessel is a multi-bunkering vessel capable of both ship-to-ship LNG and very low sulphur fuel oil (VLFSO) refuelling. The vessel has a 95.5-m length and a 15.8-m width. It is capable of holding 2,500 m3 of LNG, and also has a 1,500 m3 of VLFSO tank capacity.

Ecobunker said it is aiming to make Ecobunker Tokyo Bay one of the world's major LNG fuel supply bases. The vessel is expected to be delivered by the end of the year.
