Dunkerque LNG Offers up 2021 Capacity

The Dunkerque LNG import terminal in northern France is offering up its regasification capacity in 2021 and has invited companies to contact it for more information, Belgian operator Fluxys said on July 28. The binding phase of the tender will start on August 11 and close on August 28.

"Thanks to its location and its technical characteristics, Dunkerque LNG's terminal stands out as one of the most attractive in Europe," Fluxys said.

The Dunkerque LNG terminal can bring ashore up to 13bn m3/yr of gas, but 9.5bn m3 of this capacity is booked long-term by France's EDF and Total. It has three 200,000 m3 LNG storage tanks – some of the biggest in Europe – and it has hosted many ship-to-ship LNG transfers. Fluxys became its sole owner in 2018 after acquiring EDF and Total's shares.
