Drilling in Iran's Kish Gas Field Remains on Schedule

Drilling operations in Kish gas field is continues to be on schedule, National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), managing director, Haidar Bahmani said.

Iran has attached great importance to development of Kish gas field. The government has said that Kish gas field not only has the potential to meet domestic needs but its gas could be exported to other countries located in the Persian Gulf region, Shana said.

Last year an agreement was signed between Petroleum Engineering And Development Company, on behalf of NIOC, as contractor on the one hand and a consortium consist of Nardis, Farab and Namvaran Companies on the other hand for construction of a gas processing unit as well as construction of pipelines needed for conveyance of the field’s gas.

Almost 1.7 billion dollars contract is slated to be completed in a 42-month period. Reserves of the field are estimated at 66 trillion cubic feet and 514 million barrels of gas condensate while it is estimated 3 to 5 billion cubic feet of gas could be extracted from Kish gas field each day.
