ERIELL drills horizontal well in record time in Russia

International oilfield services provider ERIELL announced on July 29 that it had set a new company record for the time taken to drill a horizontal well.

The well was drilled at the Tazovskoye oil and gas field in west Siberia, which was brought on stream in June. Summarising its first-half results, the company said it had drilled the horizontal well with a length of nearly 2,050 m in just 17.75 days.

ERIELL, which primarily operates in Russia and Uzbekistan, also noted it would resume its international operations in August with drilling at the Garraf oilfield in Iraq.

The company drilled 159 wells during the first half, compared with 344 wells during the whole of 2020. It added it had received praise for its performance from its client at the Messoyakhaneftegaz oil joint project in Siberia between Gazprom Neft and Rosneft.

"It is very gratifying that improvements in our performance, efficiency and quality of service are continually being acknowledged by our customers," ERIELL first deputy chairman Vitaly Dokunikhin commented. "We constantly seek ways to meet and exceed our clients' expectations."
