Denmark's Celsius orders four LNGCs

Danish shipowner Celsius Tankers has ordered four new LNG carriers from South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries that will be chartered to commodities trader Gunvor, the companies said on October 18.

"These vessels are among the most efficient LNG carriers ... We are conscious of upcoming regulatory changes, and these vessels are in-line with Gunvor Group's commitment to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40% by 2025," Gunvor LNG Trading's co-head Kalpesh Patel commented. "We have further committed to convert 100% of our fleet to eco-vessels by 2027."
