Danes Plan Baltic Pipe Suppliers Meeting

Danish gas grid operator Energinet has invited potential suppliers to the Baltic Pipe project to an information meeting in Copenhagen on November 14.

"By inviting potential suppliers to this dialogue meeting, we wish to make the supplier market aware of the many opportunities in the Baltic Pipe project, a major construction project. During the meeting, we will present the many parts of the project and make ourselves available for dialogue with the potential suppliers," said Soren Juul Larsen, project manager at Energinet, September 24.

On condition that Energinet receives the energy, supply and climate minister's investment approval, the majority of the contracts will be concluded between 2019 and 2021.

Energinet and its project partner, the Polish state-run gas grid operator Gaz-System, expect to make the final investment decision by the end of 2018. It has already begun awarding preliminary contractsThe 10bn m3/yr Baltic Pipe project to flow Norwegian gas to Denmark and Poland is scheduled to start October 2022.
