Daewoo Wins Order for LNGC Pair

South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has bagged orders for two LNG carriers (LNGCs) from a customer in the Americas, it said October 11.

The orders are worth won 446bn ($376mn), DSME said in a statement, and cover the construction of two 174,000-m3 carriers for delivery by the end of September 2022. The vessels will be equipped with ME-GI propulsion systems and re-liquefaction equipment.

DSME has scored $4.7bn in orders so far this year, including for nine LNGCs, seven very large crude carriers and four submarines.
