Czech Republic: KKCG Rumoured to Be Taking Stake in Gazprom's Vemex

Czech oil and gas investment company, KKCG is preparing to take a 16 per cent stake in Gazprom's Czech subsidiary Vemex, a newspaper has reported.

Economic daily newspaper Hospodářské noviny (HN) reports that KKCG is seeking to take the stake from Swiss shareholder EW EastWest Consult, one of the shareholders in Vemex.  Vemex is the Czech Republic's biggest importer of gas.

HN says that the deal will see KKCG acquire the 16 per cent stake for approximately Kč 1 billion (around $50.5 million).

A KKCG spokesperson declined to comment on the rumours.
