Croatia Reports Gas Find

Croatia’s state-owned INA reported a gas discovery on July 19 some 120 km northeast of Zagreb.

The Severovci-1 exploration well drilled at the Drava-02 block test-flowed gas at a rate of 53,000 m³/day from two intervals, INA said in a statement. The find has been reported to the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency (CHA), it said.

“We are happy about the positive result at Severovci-1 as it is confirmation of the quality work as well as knowledge and experience of INA’s experts,” INA’s director for exploration and production, Tvrtko Perkovic, commented.

“We are interested in further investments in exploration activities which could lead us to discovery and production,” he added.

Severovci-1 took four months to complete and reached a depth of 3,410 metres. INA signed a production-sharing agreement (PSA) for Drava-02 in June 2016 and has invested kuna 100mn ($15mn) in exploration at the site to date.
