Construction Starts on Senex’s Oz Roma North Gas Project

Construction has begun on Senex Energy’s Roma North gas development in Queensland with commissioning of the facility targeted for April-June 2019 (4Q), Senex said November 12.

The company awarded Wasco the contract to build the development, including the gas processing facility, following final investment decision last month.

“This contract and early works are further milestones in the development of our gas business in the Surat Basin, following the successful financial close of our [A]$150 million [$111.45 million] senior debt facility, the announcement of Final Investment Decisions and entry into the infrastructure services agreement with Jemena for Project Atlas,” Senex’s managing director and CEO Ian Davis said.

“Roma North, together with Project Atlas, is setting the roadmap for development of our long-life natural gas assets and creating the foundation for a step-change in production and cash flow over the near term,” he added.

Wasco started early works November 12 for construction of the processing facility with initial capacity of 16 TJ/day (427 million metres3/day). The contract also includes construction of a 6 kilometre transportation pipeline to infrastructure operated by Santos’ Gladstone LNG and a metering station, Senex said.
