CNPC's CBM Production Up

Chinese state CNPC July 25 said its average coalbed methane production during the period January 1-July 19 grew almost 8% year-on-year to 6.15mn m3/day. Highest production achieved in a day during the period was 7.03mn m3.

As domestic gas demand continues to be robust, Chinese state-owned explorers have ramped up production this year. In the first six months of the year, Chinese gas production was 86.4bn m3, up 10.3% year-on-year, the statistics department said July 15.

China’s natural gas production in June was 13.9bn m3, up 13.1% year-on-year.
