CNPC Updates on Changqing Field Production

CNPC-operated Changqing oil field's natural gas production during the January 1-November 17 period stood at 35.98bn m3, the company said November 18 without offering a year on year comparison.

Changqing oil field’s total oil and gas output this year has reached 50mn metric tons of oil equivalent, state-run CNPC said. This is the seventh consecutive year that Changqing has achieved output in excess of 50mn metric tons of oil equivalent, the company added. Last year, Changqing oil field’s total output was little over 54mn metric tons of oil equivalent.

Located in Inner Mongolia, Changqing is one of China’s biggest fields and accounts for close to a quarter of the country’s overall gas production, according to CNPC. Last year, Changqing produced 38.75bn m3 of natural gas.
