CNPC Subsidiary Hits Production Milestone

PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Co has produced 30bn m3 of natural gas this year, its parent CNPC said on December 15, without offering yr/yr comparison.

It is estimated that the natural gas output of PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company will reach 31.6bn m3 this year, accounting for about a sixth of the national gas output. The company produces oil and gas mainly in the Sichuan and Xichang basins.

PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company has developed 114 gas fields and more than 2,300 production wells in the Sichuan basin since it began operating in 1958. Its cumulative gas output has crossed 500bn m3. CNPC said that the company aims to produce 50bn m3/year of natural gas by 2025, and 80bn m3/yr by 2030.
