CNPC Starts Work on China's First Shale Gas Pipeline

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has said that it has started work on China’s first dedicated shale gas pipeline in Sichuan Province.

The company said that the pipeline will be 92.8 kilometre in total length. It will start from Changning district gas gathering station and will connect to Sichuan Naxi - Yunnan Anbian gas pipeline.

The pipeline is expected to have a capacity of carrying 4.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.

A statement by CNPC did not say when the project will be complete.
