CNPC starts gas storage facility in Inner Mongolia

State-run CNPC has commissioned a large natural gas storage facility in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the company said on June 28.

The Sudong 39-61 natural gas storage cluster in Changqing oilfield was officially put into operation on June 26. The facility will improve gas supplies in the central and western regions of China, CNPC said. The average daily gas injection volume of the gas storage is 5.4mn m3 and the maximum daily injection volume is 6mn m3.

Changqing, one of China’s biggest oilfields, is located in the country's northern Ordos basin.
