CNPC Achieves CBM Production Milestone at Qinshui Basin
CNPC January 18 said it produced a record 1.02bn m3 of coalbed methane (CBM) in 2018 from CBM production bases in Qinshui basin, located within Shanxi province.
According to the company, the Qinshui basin and the periphery are the first mature CBM industrialisation bases built in China. In the Dafanzhuang area of the Qinshui basin, the new drilling capacity reached 90% in 2018, CNPC said, adding the drilling capacity of Zhengzhuang block in Qinshui Basin reached 100%.
The CBM projects in Qinshui basin is operated by PetroChina Huabei Oilfield Company.
