Cnooc’s Zhuhai Terminal Jumps

Chinese state Cnooc’s Zhuhai LNG terminal saw a sharp rise in the regasification volume in Q1 2018, the company said last week. The terminal is on Gaolan Island in Guangdong province.

During the quarter, the terminal supplied 515,000 metric tons of LNG, up 133% year on year. The amount of LNG received in Q1 was little over 35% of the annual target. Cnooc said that out of the total, 248,000 mt were supplied by pipeline and the rest – almost half – was delivered to its customers by trucks.

The 3.5mn mt/yr terminal received its first cargo of LNG in October 2013. Cnooc has proposed to double the terminal’s capacity. The terminal supplies natural gas to the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Jiangmen.
