Cnooc's Zhejiang Terminal's Imports Touch 20mn mt

Cnooc Gas and Power’s Zhejiang LNG receiving terminal has unloaded and processed 20mn metric tons of LNG since it became operational in 2012, the company said November 12.

Zhejiang LNG terminal, located near the city of Ningbo in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, was commissioned in 2012 with LNG imported from Qatar. In 2018, the terminal unloaded 5.47mn mt of LNG, up 52% year-on-year, as downstream demand for gas was robust.

Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of state-run Cnooc, has 51% stake in the terminal while other shareholders are Zhejiang Energy Company (29%) and Ningbo Power (20%). Cnooc Gas and Power operates nine LNG import terminals at Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putian, Yuedong, Dapeng, Zhuhai, Hainan and Shenzhen - most of which are part-owned by others.
