CNOOC's Tianjin FLNG Terminal Receives First LNG Cargo

China National Offshore Oil Corp’s (CNOOC) new Tianjin floating LNG terminal in eastern China received its first cargo on November 21, the company said in a statement Monday.

Country’s first FLNG project officially started trial with arrival of 59,000 mt LNG cargo, CNOOC said.

First phase of the project is designed to have an annual receiving capacity of 2.2 million tonnes or roughly equivalent to 3 billion cubic meters/year of natural gas.

According to a report published by Reuters earlier this year, the second phase of the project will involve the construction of a conventional onshore LNG terminal, with a receiving capacity of no less than 6.0 million tonnes a year.
