Cnooc's Shenzhen Terminal Receives Third Cargo

China’s Cnooc Gas and Power’s recently commissioned Shenzhen LNG terminal in Guangdong province received its third cargo October 22, the company said October 23.

The LNG arrived from Indonesia and will now be stored in one of the tanks for the upcoming winter season. Shenzhen LNG terminal commenced commercial operations with the arrival of first cargo from Qatar August 1.

According to Cnooc Gas and Power, the terminal will enhance natural gas supply in winter to Shenzhen and other areas of north China. Shenzhen LNG terminal has a capacity of 4mn mt/yr and was originally scheduled to come online in 2015.

Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of state-owned Cnooc, now operates nine LNG import terminals at Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putian, Yuedong, Dapeng, Zhuhai, Hainan and Shenzhen.

Shenzhen LNG terminal is its ninth terminal to begin operations.
