Cnooc’s Shanghai Terminal Hikes Storage Capacity

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) on November 17 said it had completed the construction and commissioning of two additional storage tanks at Cnooc’s Shanghai LNG import terminal.

The terminal now has five tanks in total, with its capacity increasing by 80% thanks to the two new additions. The new 200,000-m3 tanks started working November 16, bringing overall capacity to 895,000 m3.

The terminal has a receiving capacity of 3mn metric tons/year and supplies the fuel to customers in Shanghai. Local government-backed Shenergy Group also has a stake in the terminal.
