Chinese state-owned energy company CNOOC has started production at Jinzhou 31-1 gas field in the Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Sea, it said on November 18.

The Jinzhou 31-1 gas field has an average water depth of about 30 m. The main production facilities include an underwater production system, a submarine mixed pipeline and an umbilical cable.  The project is expected to achieve peak production of approximately 14.8mn ft3/day of natural gas in 2023, the company said.
