Cnooc breaks ground on new tanks at Binhai terminal: press

Chinese state-run Cnooc has begun work on six LNG storage tanks at the Binhai terminal in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, Reuters reported on June 9.

The tanks, with a storage capacity of 270,000 m3 each, will be built at the same time with ancillary facilities. The terminal at present has four LNG storage tanks, each with a capacity of 220,000 m3. The tanks are expected to be ready by 2023, Reuters reported.

Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of state-run Cnooc, now operates nine LNG import terminals at Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putian, Yuedong, Dapeng, Zhuhai, Hainan and Shenzhen.
