CNOOC Gas & Power, Shaanxi Gas Sign Cooperation Agreement

CNOOC Gas and Power on September 6 signed a cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Gas Group to expand business in China’s Shaanxi province.

Both sides will coordinate resources across the natural gas chain such as in the areas of natural gas purchase and sales, LNG, pipelines, city gas, LNG travel filling, etc, CNOOC Gas and Power said in a statement. State government owned Shaanxi Group is involved in exploration and development of conventional and unconventional natural gas, storage and transportation of gas and city gas business segment.

CNOOC Gas and Power, a subsidiary of CNOOC, operates LNG terminals and pipeline networks in China. It operates terminals in Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan, and Shanghai. With signing of this agreement, CNOOC Gas and Power hopes to expand its operations and develop natural gas industry in western and north-western China.

Commenting on specifics, CNOOC Gas and Power said the two parties would look to cooperate in further developing the Yangling LNG project located in the Yangling Demonstration Area of Shaanxi province.
