    Chiyoda joins Chubu hydrogen study group

Chiyoda joins Chubu hydrogen study group

Chiyoda Corp on April 9 said it has joined the ‘Hydrogen Utilisation Study Group in Chubu’ to study the potential for hydrogen use in the Chubu region. The group will also look at building a hydrogen supply chain.  

The group consists of Air Liquide, Chubu Electric Power Co., Idemitsu Kosan Co., Iwatani Corp, Eneos Corp, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp, Nippon Steel Corporation, Sumitomo Corp, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, Toho Gas and Toyota Motor Corp.

According to Chiyoda, the group will conduct cross-sectional studies with the aim of establishing a large-scale supply system using 300,000 metric tons/year of hydrogen by 2030. 

“Through its participation in the group, Chiyoda’s goal is to develop a hydrogen supply chain by the mid-2020s to 2030, contribute to a stable global environment and develop a sustainable society by achieving carbon neutrality by 2050,” the company said.
