Chinese Honghua to Supply Offshore LNG Platform to US Firm

Chinese Honghua Group and American Argo LNG Partners have entered an offshore LNG platform construction heads of agreement worth $1.8bn. The HoA was signed October 28 during the Sino-US LNG industry development seminar in Beijing.

The first part of the platform will be delivered under an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Shanghai Honghua Offshore Oil and Gas Equipment, a subsidiary of Honghua Group, Honghua Group said October 31. The first set is scheduled to be installed in the US Gulf of Mexico and it will take two to three years to complete the construction, including four production platforms, four storage platforms, four accommodation platforms, four central processing platforms, and a jetty. The designed annual LNG processing capability and storage capability would be 3.6mn metric tons and 240,000 m³ respectively.
