Chinese gas imports up 3% in January-May

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG during January-May were 46.29mn metric tons, up 3.3% year/year, the country’s customs department said on June 7.

The cost of imports during the January-May period was $26.9bn, up 0.5% yr/yr. In May, the country imported 10.64mn mt of gas.
