Chinese gas imports up 22% Jan-Oct

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG in January-October were 99.07mn metric tons (mt), up 22.3% year/year, the country’s customs department said on November 7.

The arrivals remained strong last month as well despite a sharp run-up in prices. Asia’s biggest economy imported 9.38mn mt of gas in October, up almost 25% yr/yr.
