Chinese gas imports drop 10% in H1

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG in the first six months of 2022 (H1) were down 10% year/year, the country’s customs department said on July 13.

Asia's biggest economy imported 53.57mn metric tons of gas in H1 of this year versus 59.52mn mt in the same period of 2021. The cost of imports during January-June jumped 51.4% year/year to $31.67bn.
