Chinese gas imports down 5% in Q1

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG in the first three months of 2022 (Q1) were down 5% year/year, the country’s customs department said on April 13.

Asia's biggest economy imported 27.81mn metric tons of natural gas in Q1 compared with 29.3mn mt in the same period of last year. The natural gas imports in March came in at 7.98mn mt, the customs department said.
