Chinese gas demand up 19% in June

China’s gas consumption in June was 29.44bn m3, up 19.2% year/year, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said on July 30.

The consumption during the first six months of the year (H1) was 182.7bn m3, up 17.4% yr/yr, the NDRC said. China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG in H1 were up 23.8% yr/yr to 59.81mn metric tons, according to customs department data published earlier this month.
