China's Tarim Oilfield 2018 Production Up

The Tarim Oilfield, one of China’s biggest oil and gas fields, produced a record 26.73 million metric tons (mt) of oil equivalent in 2018, up more than 5% year on year, CNPC said January 2.

Last year Tarim Oilfield, located in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, produced 5.51mn mt of oil and 26.62bn m3 of natural gas, CNPC said without giving any year on year comparison. This year CNPC expects the output to be 27.85mn mt of oil equivalent, up over 4% on 2018.

The field is operated by PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company, a unit of CNPC.
