China's March LNG Imports Up Over 4%

China’s LNG imports during March totalled 4.19mn metric tons, up 4.3% yr/yr, according to customs data published on April 23.

During the first three months of the year LNG imports totalled 15.25mn mt, up 2.4% yr/yr. Meanwhile, China’s pipeline gas imports in March were 2.73mn mt, down 5.3% yr/yr, the data showed. Pipeline gas imports in the first quarter were 9.40mn mt, up 0.8% yr/yr.

Chinese LNG and pipeline gas imports have taken a hit this year because of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, with yr/yr growth slowing down significantly.
