Chinese LNG imports up 34% in April

China imported 6.73mn metric tons of LNG in April, up 33.6% year/year, the country's customs department said on May 18. Imports were up 19.3% month/month. 

During the first four months of the year, China imported 26.2mn mt of LNG, up 29.6% yr/yr. China's gas imports via pipeline in April were 3.42mn metric, up 30.1% yr/yr and 11% month/month, the customs department said. The pipeline imports in the January-April period were 13.26mn metric tons, up 10.25 yr/yr.
