China's gas imports drop 4% in Q1

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG during the January-March period (Q1) were down 3.6% year/year, the country’s customs department said on April 13.

Asia's biggest economy imported 26.74mn metric tons of natural gas in Q1 of 2023 compared with 27.73mn mt in the same period of last year. Imports in March were 8.86mn mt, the department said.
